Goals
Simply match-up Team A’s For stats v Team B’s Against stats for a quick-fire guide to how many Goals you can expect from Team A. Then do the same for Team B. This will highlight a series of Match Result and Goals bets. Consider this example match-up…
| |
Team A |
v Team B |
| Goals For: |
3.3 |
0.9 |
| Goals Against: |
0.9 |
2.9 |
| Under 2.5 Goals |
19% |
25% |
| Over 2.5 Goals |
81% |
75% |
Summary
These (fictional) stats suggest that Team A have averaged about 3 (3.3) Goals per match – and Team B have conceded an average of about 3 (2.9) too. While Team A have conceded around 1 (0.9) Goal per game, closely matching Team B’s record of scoring about 1 (1.1).
We can also see that Team A’s matches average 4.2 Goals per game (3.3 + 0.9), while Team B’s average 4.0 (1.1 + 2.9). Both well over the bookmaker’s marker of 2.5 Goals.
This is supported by the Under/ Over percentages - 81% of Team A’s matches and 75% of Team B’s matches have produced more than 2.5 Goals.
Conclusion
This indicates that both teams tend to be involved in high scoring matches and Team A look capable of outscoring Team B (by about 3-1).
Bets to consider
- Over 2.5 Goals
- Team A to win
- Team A to score first
- Team A (-1) Handicap
- Correct Score 3-1
The example used is an ideal betting scenario for a Match Result bet – high For figures v high Against figures, that match up closely. But even if the stats don’t throw up an obvious match winner, there are plenty of betting alternatives.
Two sets of low Goals figures for example, might point bets including…
- Under 2.5 Goals
- Clean Sheets
- Goal after 27 minutes
- Correct Score(s): 0-0, 1-0, 0-1
Like wise, two sets of high Goals figures might prompt Over 2.5 Goals, Goal before 27 minutes, First Goal or individual Goal Scorer bets.
Note: For picking out Match Result bets, you can also compare the two team’s Possession and Corners stats to support guide you. High Possession and Corners For figures indicate strong attacking teams as clearly as Goals stats. You can also find additional Goal Times stats on the individual Team Pages.
Corners
Corners stats can be matched up in the same way as Goals. Consider this example match-up…
| |
Team A |
v Team B |
| Corners For: |
8.3 |
5.8 |
| Corners Against: |
4.5 |
8.9 |
| Under 10.5 Corners |
23% |
17% |
| Over 2.5 Corners |
76% |
83% |
Summary
These (fictional) stats suggest that Team A have averaged about 8 (8.3) Corners per match – matching closely to Team B’s conceded average of about 9 (8.9) too. While Team A have conceded around 4 or 5 (4.5) Corners per game, to Team B’s record of winning about 6 (5.8).
We can also see that Team A’s matches average 12.8 Corners per game (8.3 + 4.5), while Team B’s average 14.7 (5.8 + 8.9).
Our Under/ Over percentages tell us that 76% of Team A’s matches and 83% of Team B’s matches have produced more than 10.5 Corners.
Conclusion
This indicates that both teams tend to be involved in high Corners matches. With Team A capable of getting about 2 Corners more than Team B.
Bets to consider
- Over 10.5 Corners
- Team A to get First Corner
- Team A to get Most Corners
- Team A (-2) Handicap
When two team’s For and Against stats match-up closely like the example above, it will give you a good idea of how many Corners you can expect from each team. You can then use these figures to tackle Multi-Corners and X-Corners bets (see Betting on Corners…section).
Booking Points
As with Goals and Corners, match-up Team A’s For figures with Team B’s Against figure, then repeat for Team B. This will give you an idea of how many Booking Points each team are likely to get, and how many you can expect in total. Consider this example match-up…
| |
Team A |
v Team B |
| Booking Points For: |
26.4 |
10.0 |
| Booking Points Against: |
6.0 |
15.0 |
| Under 35 Booking Points |
76% |
72% |
| Over 35 Booking Points |
33% |
28% |
| First Booking/ Card |
78% |
33% |
Summary
These (fictional) stats suggest that Team A has received an average of 26.4 Booking Points per match, while Team B’s opponents have received an average of 15.0. Team B have received on average 10.0 Booking Points per match, while Team A’s opponents have received 6.0.
Looking at the totals, we can see that Team A’s matches average 32.4 Booking Points per game (26.4 + 6.0 = 32.4), while Team B’s average 25.0 (10.0 + 15.0 = 25.0).
Our Under/ Over percentages tell us that 75% (that’s 3 out of 4) of Team A’s matches and 72% of Team B’s matches have produced less than 35 Booking Points.
First Booking/ Card stats indicate that Team A receive the First Booking in 78% (that’s more than 3 out of 4) matches. Team B receive the First Booking in 33% (a third) of matches.
Conclusion
This indicates that both teams tend to be involved in matches that produce low Booking Points. Team A are an aggressive side that attract more Booking Points than their opponents. Team B tend to attract less than their opponents.
Bets to consider
- Under 35 Corners
- Team A to get First Booking/ Card
- Team A to get Most Bookings
