Man Utd beat Arsenal 3-1 last night, booking their place in the Champions
League final for the second season running…

Man Utd win 4-1 on aggregate.

That result ended Arsenal’s run of 27 home games without defeat. And it
extends Man Utd’s unbeaten record to 25 games – a Champions League
record. They’ll be looking to set another record in the Final, by
becoming the first team to win the competition 2 years in a row.

Last night’s results

If you’ve been following my stats emails over the past season or so,
you’ll know I’m not one to bang on about ‘bad luck’ when a bet loses.
However, last night I couldn’t help but feel we were a bit hard done by…

The Referee, Roberto Rosetti sent off Man Utd’s Darren Fletcher in the
74th minute for a ‘foul’ in the penalty box. The TV replays make the red
card seem pretty harsh, with ITV commentator Jim Beglin adamant that it
was a good tackle and Fletcher won the ball fair and square. The
decision stands though, and Fletcher will now be suspended for the Final.

So our 7-bet winning streak came to an end last night. That red card was
worth 25 Booking Points, and proved decisive in pushing the bookings
total over the 50 Points mark. We were also ‘only’ 1 corner kick away
from our Corners saver bet paying out, too.

‘Under 10 Corners’ @ 15/8 (and ‘10-12 Corners’ @ 2/1 as a saver bet) – LOST

The stats were true to form at Half Time with just 5 corners in the first
45 minutes – and no bookings. But a flurry of 2nd Half corners took the
total to 13.

And although the first Yellow Card didn’t come until the 69th minute, the
sending off meant the final tally crept to 55 Booking Points (or 5
‘Cards’ using Bet365’s scoring system).
