Corners
Liverpool have played 3 home Champions League games this season,
and 2 of them have paid out a winner on 'Under 10.5 Corners'
bets...
Liverpool - Home Corners 2008/9
Corners For = 6.67
Corners Against = 2.00
Liverpool have only conceded 6 corners in 3 home games - very low
'Corners Against' stats. Last season Liverpool played 6 Champions
League games at Anfield, with a 'Corners Against' average of just
2.8 per game.
Real Madrid - Away Corners 2008/9
Corners For = 5.00
Corners Against = 7.67
Real Madrid's 'Corners Against' average looks pretty 'high' due to
their Group game away at Zenit earlier in the season, when they
conceded a massive 14 corners. It's worth noting that Zenit lost
that game 2-1 and were behind for almost the entire game (Real led
for 80 mins of the 90).
But this evening, Liverpool don't NEED to go for goals...
A draw would be good enough for Liverpool to qualify for the
Quarter Finals. And as you can see from their Corners 'For and
Against' averages, a 'high corners' game at Anfield would usually
be due to Liverpool winning the majority of corner kicks.
In the Premier League this season, half of Liverpool's home games
have been 'Under 10.5 Corners.' And their 'Corners Against' figure
is a low 3.3 corners per game.
In the Spanish La Liga this season, half of Real Madrid's away
games have also been 'Under 10.5 Corners' - including 4 of their 5
most recent games.
- There were 9 corners in the 1st leg between Real Madrid and
Liverpool
Last season, 100% of Real's away Champions League games paid out on
'Under 10.5 Corners' bets.
Liverpool's last 3 home '2nd leg' games in the Champions League
have all provided 'Under 10.5 Corners' winners.
At the time of writing only two bookies are offering bets on 'Under
10.5 Corners' for tonight's game - available at 17/20 (1.85) with
Partybets or 6/10 (1.60) with Expekt. Those bets pay out if there
are 10 or less corners in the game.
However you can bigger odds for 'Under 10 Corners' with most of the
major bookies...
|
RECOMMENDED BET:
- 'Under 10 Corners' @ 6/5 (2.20) with Coral or 11/10 (2.10)
with Blue Square and William Hill
'Under 10 Corners' is also available at Evens (2.00) with Stan
James, Bet365, Betfred, Skybet, Paddy Power and Boylesports. Those
bets pay out a winner if there are 9 or less corners in the game.
- ALSO - have a saver bet (around 1/7th of your main stake) on
'Exactly 10 Corners' at 15/2 (8.50) with Stan James, Bet365,
Betfred, Paddy Power
Placing the saver bet will leave you around level overall if there
exactly 10 corners in the game.

Also available - 'Asian Total Corners - Under 10' at 4/5 (1.80)
with Bet365 pays out if there are 9 or less corners in the game,
and gives you your money back if there are exactly 10.
There's another market worth a mention for this game...
Booking Points - good options at 13/5 and 4/1
It looks like the bookies expect Real Madrid to win the 'Most
Booking Points' tonight. The Spanish team are as short as 8/13
(1.62) for that bet. However, the stats don't make it that clear
cut...
Liverpool got the 'Most Booking Points' in the 1st leg (a bet we
had at 6/5). Real Madrid haven't got the most points in ANY of
their 3 away games so far this season. And their record from last
season is 50-50 - Real got the most points in 2 out of 4 away games
in the 2007/8 Champions League.
Neither team averages the 'Most Booking Points' on this season's
stats...
·
Liverpool average 3.33 Booking Points For and 20.00 Against
at home
·
Real Madrid average 10.00 For and 23.33 Against per away game
Liverpool can be backed at 13/5 to get the 'Most Booking Points'
tonight - and the Booking Points 'Tie' is 4/1...
- Both those bets look decent value. If you were to place 60%
of your stake on Liverpool to get the 'Most Booking Points' and the
other 40% on the 'Tie', you'll double your money overall if Real
Madrid DON'T win the most points.
Best odds on those options...
Liverpool to win the 'Booking Points Match Bet' is 13/5 (3.60) with
Blue Square and 888 Sport, or Liverpool to get the 'Most Booking
Points' is 21/10 (3.10) with William Hill.
And the Booking Points 'Tie' is 4/1 (5.00) with William Hill or 7/2
(4.50) with Blue Square and 888 Sport.
Betfair also offer a 'Booking Points Match Bet' market.
Juventus v Chelsea
Live on ITV4, kick off 7.45pm
Ref: Alberto Undiano Mallenco
Story so far: 1st Leg score: 1-0 Chelsea.
If Chelsea win or draw, they'll qualify for the Quarter Finals. If
Juventus win 1-0 the tie will go to Extra Time; if Juventus win by
2 clear goals they go through.

Booking Points
Juventus are averaging less Booking Points than their opponents at
home this season - and Chelsea away are averaging more...
Juventus - Home Booking Points 2008/9
Booking Pts For = 10.00
Booking Pts Against = 20.00
Chelsea - Away Booking Points 2008/9
Booking Pts For = 40.00
Booking Pts Against = 20.00
Juventus have only got the 'Most Booking Points' in one of their 3
home Champions League games so far this season (and they weren't in
the competition last season).
In 13 home games in Italy's Serie A this season, Juventus have only
got the 'Most Booking Points' 3 times - just 23%.
The home team hasn't got the 'Most Booking Points' in ANY of
Chelsea's 3 away Champions League games so far this season - with
Chelsea getting the most points twice.
In fact, in Chelsea's last 13 away Champions League games in a row
- going back almost 2 years - the home team HASN'T got the 'Most
Booking Points.'
Also, Chelsea have got the 'Most Booking Points' in 64% of their
away Premier League games this season - and are averaging 23.9
points 'For' and 12.1 'Against' in the league.
William Hill make Chelsea the favourite to get the 'Most Booking
Points' at just 4/6 (1.67) - but you can get a much better price of
5/4 (2.25) for that same bet with Skybet.
|
RECOMMENDED BET:
- Chelsea to be the 'Team with the Most Booking Points' @ 5/4
(2.25) with Skybet
Bet Now!
Skybet's website is: www.Skybet.com
That bet is also available on Betfair, and at 10/11 (1.91) with
Blue Square and 888 Sport ('Booking Points Match Bet' market).
- ALSO - have a saver bet (around 1/5th of your main stake) on
the Booking Points 'Tie' @ 4/1 (5.00) with William Hill
Placing the saver bet will leave you around level overall if both
teams get the same amount of Booking Points. Check for odds here:

Panathinaikos v Villarreal
Live on Sky Sports 2, kick off 7.45pm
Ref: Massimo Busacca
Story so far: 1st Leg: 1-1.
If Panathinaikos win, or draw 0-0, they'll qualify for the Quarter
Finals. If the score finishes 1-1 the tie will go to Extra Time. If
Villarreal win or the game finishes in a score draw of 2-2, 3-3
etc, Villarreal go through on 'away goals'.

Booking Points
We had this game on our 'watch list' for high Bookings in the 1st
leg (there were 40 Booking Points). And with all to play for in the
2nd leg tonight, an 'Over' bet looks a good option...
Panathinaikos - Home Booking Points 2008/9
Booking Pts For = 26.67
Booking Pts Against = 23.33
Average Total = 50.00
Villarreal - Away Booking Points 2008/9
Booking Pts For = 41.67
Booking Pts Against = 13.33
Average Total = 55.00
The stats on our website show that 66% of Panathinaikos home games
and 100% of Villarreal away games have gone 'Over 35.5 Booking
Points' (the bookies' usual marker) this season.
For tonight's game, the bookies are asking for a total of 50 or
more Booking Points in the 'Over' market. In a normal league game
that would look high - but this a knockout cup game, where both
teams are fighting to go through to the next round...
Backing '50 Or More' Booking Points has paid out a winner in 2 out
of 3 Panathinaikos home games this season. And in one of
Villarreal's 3 away games (the other 2 games had 40 points).
A look at both teams' recent domestic form bodes well for an 'Over'
bet, too.
·
3 of the last 5 Panathinaikos home games in the Greek league
have had at least 50 Booking Points
·
3 of the last 5 Villarreal away games in Spain's La Liga have
had '50 Or More' Booking Points
The best 'Over' bets are available with Betfred and Boylesports -
who both have bets that will pay out on a total of 50 or more
Booking Points...
|
RECOMMENDED BET:
- '50 or More' Booking Points @ 8/11 (1.73) with Betfred
('Total Cards' market) or 'Over 46 Points' @ 8/13 (1.62) with
Boylesports ('Bookings' market)
Bet Now!

Boylesports: www.Boylesports.com
|
Also available - 'Asian Total Cards - Over 5' @ Evens (2.00) with
Bet365 pays out if there are 6 or more Cards in the game, and gives
you your money back if there are exactly 5. Check for the latest
odds here...
http://odds.sportsbettingxtra.co.uk/football/champions-league/
Other bookies - including Stan James, Skybet and Victor Chandler -
offer bigger odds of around 6/4 (2.50) for a higher total of 'Over
55 Booking Points.'
Booking Points and Cards bets explained...
Most bookies use this Booking Points system:
Yellow Card = 10 pts, Red Card = 25 pts.
The most one player can get in a game is 35 pts (2 yellows
resulting in a red).
Bet365's 'Cards' market works like this:
Yellow Card = 1 card, Red Card = 2 cards
The most one player can get in a game is 3 cards (2 yellows
resulting in a red).
Check with the bookie you use for their specific rules.
Remember you can follow the latest scores and live Corners, Goals
and Booking Points stats for every game on the home page of our
website. The Scoreboard will go live with the full team line-ups
and all the stats updating minute-by-minute from kick off at
7.45pm...
Good luck!
