Liverpool booked the final quarter place last night beating Inter
Milan 1-0 in their 2nd leg encounter at the San Siro. Liverpool won
the tie 3-0 on aggregate. Liverpool’s win means for the first time
in Champions League history 4 English teams have made it through to
the quarter finals. The quarter final and semi final draws take place on
Friday. Any team can be drawn against anyone from now on.

Now let’s take a detailed look at last night’s action…

Just like in the 1st leg between these two sides Inter Milan
finished the game with only 10 players. Liverpool took full
advantage and went in front in the 63rd minute thanks to another
goal by the in form striker Fernando Torres. With their man
advantage Liverpool played out the rest of the match with relative
ease, booking their place in the last 8.
