It was another great night in the Champions League…

Man Utd and Barcelona both made it through their Quarter Final 2nd legs
with 1-0 wins, setting up a glittering Semi Final 'glamour tie'. See
below for the full Semi Final line-up and dates.

Our standout stats for last night's 2 games produced a clean sweep of
winners…

Man Utd 1 Roma 0
(Man Utd win 3-0 on aggregate)

Roma missed a 1st half penalty and couldn't get the goals they needed to
give them a chance of going through. Carlos Tevez got the only goal of
the game for Man Utd in the 70th minute.

The Stats said:
The Draw @ 5/2+ AND Man Utd to win by 1 goal @ 5/2+ - WON

Both teams' previous home and away results suggested a narrow score-line,
with Man Utd the more likely winner. Both teams had chances to score but
it was Man Utd that made the breakthrough. Producing an overall profit
from backing the two options mentioned above, or an 11/2 winner if you
backed the '1-0' Man Utd Correct Score.

The Stats said:
Man Utd '-1 Corner Handicap' @ 1.88 or '-2 Corner Handicap' @ 5/4 or
Evens - WON

There were a whopping 21 corners in this game. The stats showed Man Utd
had got at least 4 corners more than their opponent in each of their home
games so far, and that trend continued last night: Man Utd 13 corners,
Roma 8 corners.

The Stats said:
Cristiano Ronaldo to be First Goalscorer @ 4/1 and to Score Anytime @
13/10 with Paddy Power - VOID

Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson 'shuffled his pack' for this game and
left both Ronaldo and Rooney on the bench. Ronaldo didn't play any part
in the game meaning both bets on him are 'void' (stakes returned) with
Paddy Power. Here are their Rules on these markets:

'Bets taken on First/Last goalscorer will be void if that player does not
take part in the game or if he comes on after the first goal is scored.'

'For bets on 'Anytime Goalscorer': Players will be considered to be a
runner and bets will stand, should he play any part in the match.'

The Stats said:
Wayne Rooney to be First Goalscorer @ 9/2 and to Score Anytime @ 13/8
with William Hill - VOID

Rooney came on as a sub in the 74th minute, after the First Goal had
already been scored. Under William Hill's Rules both the bets on Rooney
are also void:

'Bets on 'first goalscorer' where the selection comes on after the first
goal is scored will be void.'

'ANYTIME SCORER:
Players must start the match for bets to be valid. Stakes will be
refunded on any non- starters, whether or not they score.'

Barcelona 1 Schalke 0
(Barcelona win 2-0 on aggregate)

A goal by Yaya Toure gave Barcelona their 2nd 1-0 win over Schalke and
sent them into the Semi Finals.

The Stats said:
'Over 10 Corners' @ 23/20, 11/10 or Evens – WON

Both Barcelona and Schalke have 'high' corners stats in the Champions
League this season, rated 75% for 'Over 10 Corners' games (home / away)
before last night. Last night's game produced another high tally, with 15
corners in total.

The Stats said:
Schalke 'Most Bookings' @ 4/6 or Schalke to get the 'First Card' @ 4/6 –
WON

Schalke had got the Most Bookings and the First Card in 75% of their away
games before last night, and they continued this Bookings trend against
Barcelona. Schalke's Ferreira de Souza got the First Card after just 10
minutes, and Schalke got the Most Bookings overall – 2 yellows (20 pts)
to Barcelona's 1 (10 pts).
